...my life got flipped-turned upside down!
The last few years have been life changing, literally! I went from a twenty-something working a corporate 9-5, to a married mother of two boys who started her own business from the ground up.
Everything changed drastically one day in 2015 when the executives for the company I was working for walked into our office one day out of the blue and called a meeting.
Just like that. Our whole department of 40+ people were laid off. We were given 3 months notice and then the jobs that we held were going to be gone. Done. Finished. Over.
Let's dive in a little deeper, shall we?
I will never forget that day.
I had a full-time job that I loved. Our department was full of like minded people who all genuinely got along. When the news came of our work family being broken up in a few months time, I was devastated to say the least. To make this even more interesting, I was six and-a-half months pregnant with my second son and was a few months away from taking my twelve month Maternity Leave. Up until that day, I was planning to come back to my job that I loved when I was scheduled to return to the working world. While we were told the news of our lay-off, we were offered options to stay with the company, but none of them appealed to me and I knew in my heart that I was not going to be returning after my Maternity Leave.
The Universe had bigger plans for me than I had for myself.
After my second son was born and while Maternity Leave was in full swing, I started researching ways to stay home with my children (which had always been a dream for me) and also bring in money to support my family. I decided to start my own business.
I hit the ground running, and I haven't slowed down since.
Raising two toddlers while being devoted to building a business is anything but easy. But I can promise you this - I wouldn't have it any other way.
I am able to be home with my children, and I could not be more grateful for how things ended up for me and my family.
Speaking of family, let me brag about mine for a sec.
I ended up falling in love with and marrying my high school crush. The story about how fate kept pushing us together over a few years is a long one, and I'd be happy to tell you about it sometime - just ask!
Together, we have two boys who are our absolute world. They are three and two years old and keep us super busy. They tend to sometimes make appearances on my video meetings, they love to pop in and say hello!

My inbox had nearly 1000 unread messages and who knows how many total when we started working together. I remember when it happened - Inbox Zero! I found quite a few missed or non replied-to messages in the process. Not good when you're running a business!
